2014 Challenge | Halloween

So every year on my main book blog since 2010 I've done a Halloween Challenge. Fun fact: as a kid I was paranoid and terrified of Halloween and now that I'm older, ironically, it's my favorite holiday EVER. Like, over Christmas and Valentines Day. I love love love Fall and Halloween and the colors... *sigh*.

So since this is the first year I'm doing this on this blog.... I wasn't really going anywhere with that honestly haha. I normally pick books out of my comfort zone or paranormal books I've been trying to get myself to pick up and actually I've discovered a lot of my favorite series by doing this every year!

I get a little too excited when I first make this list, but it'll change through the month. But here's to hoping that I FOR ONCE end up crossing everything off!

  • The Other Lamb by Katie Young
  • Falls The Shadow by Stefanie Gaither
  • Of Monsters and Madness by Jessica Verday
  • Fallen by Lauren Kate
  • Fiendish by Brenna Yovanoff
  • Salt & Storm by Kendall Kulper
  • Guardians (Seers #3) by Heather Frost
  • Unmade (The Lynburn Legacy #3 *sobs*) by Sarah Rees Brennan
  • Between The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by Genevieve Tucholke
  • The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis
  • Made For You by Melissa Marr
  • Ghost House by Alexandra Adornetto
  • Servents of the Storm by Delilah Dawson
  • The Vines by Christopher Rice (seriously, I'm a little scared)
  • Getting Even by Sarah Rayner
  • When by Victoria Laurie
  • Dark Redemption by Angie Sandro
  • Soulless by Amber Garr
  • Once Upon A Time by Marina Warner
  • Suspicion by Alexandra Moni
  • The Girl From The Well by Rin Chupeco
  • The Forgotten Girls by Sara Blaedel
  • Fractured Dream by KM Randall
  • The Wonder of All Things by Jason Mott
  • Creed by Trisha Leaver
  • Blood Entwines by Caroline Healy
  • Dream Boy by Mary Crockett
  • Strings by G. Miki Hayden

Okay, I know, you're like the hell with this list right? But these are titles I'm targeting. I'll eventually be removing some or replacing some or maybe I MIGHT JUST READ THEM ALL. Right. In a perfect world maybe.

So.... enough about me! What do you plan on reading this October? Let me know in the comments below!

The 2014 GoodReads Challenge

Every year since I started book blogging in 2009 my goal was always 50+ and most of the time, I achieved that but this year I'm doing something different.

I'm challenging myself to read only 30 books.

That's pretty much half of the goal I usually set for myself.

And that's because this year, while I would love to focus on reading more and doing more within the book community like I always do... I'm leaving myself room to have time to start and continue other projects and being a little realistic with the fact that I've also gone back to school full time (I was suppose to graduate this month but I sort of kind of set myself back a year... or two... Disney internships and all...).

This handy dandy widget will be placed in my side bar so you all can comfortably track me on my 2014 challenge. It's also in my GoodReads profile, I think.

Have any of you taken the GoodReads reading challenge? And if you have what's your goal for this year?

Monthly To Be Read | September 2013

So I've never been one to really do monthly themes unless it was October or December only because I feel like it would restrict me and I would feel like I was more working than enjoying whatever I wanted to read next. Wow that was a long sentence.... but this month, I decided to try to give myself a bit of a push in a direction for once. Just because... I never know what to pick up next.

So for September I wanted to focus more on Fairytale Retellings and Contemporary.

Mostly because I haven't read any Fairytale Retellings in awhile and Halloween is coming up, I wanna get in that fantasy mood. Besides, Magic Kingdom has already set up Halloween decorations. Don't believe me? I snapped this picture like an hour ago.

Crazy right?

Now I know I'm not going to get through all of theses, but as long as I get through most of them I think I'll be happy (though getting through all of them would be extra nice! i could make the list shorter but really what's the fun in that?).

Fairytale Retellings

  • The Crimson Thread: A Retelling of Rumpelstiltskin by Suzanne Weyn
  • Winter's Child by Cameron Dokey
  • Everbound (Everneath #2) by Brodi Ashton
  • Sweetly by Jackson Pearce
  • The Real Boy by Anne Ursu

Contemporary
  • Just One Day by Gayle Forman
  • Losing It (Losing It #1) by Cora Carmack
  • Keeping Her (Losing It #1.5) by Cora Carmack
  • Faking It (Losing it #2) by Cora Carmack
  • Flirting With Maybe by Wendy Higgins
  • Hopeless by Colleen Hoover
  • Ten Tiny Breaths by K.A. Tucker
  • The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
  • OCD, The Dude, and Me by Lauren Roedy Vaughn
  • The Beginning of Everything by Robyn Scheider

Whooo! Does anyone else get carried away/over confident when they're making lists like these? Like seriously I'm always like yeah, a few books here and there... and then.... this happens lol. Maybe I should stop buying so many books. Maybe that will never happen lol!
I'm pretty excited about having The Fault in Our Stars on there since I'm finally making time to read it. I may just save that for the end of the month so I can clear my mind and just immerse myself in it. If the challenge keeps going as smoothly as it's already going.

What are you guys planning on reading this month? Do you have a challenge list or any titles in mind?
